Abstract

The present work deals with the historical development of the use of water wheels to turbines and also about the gradual electrification of the royal town Písek. The first section covers the history of the use of water power in the various fields of human activity. You will find the miller's trade and life on the mill. Consequently, there is described a gradual electrification of Czech cities, which led to a much greater modernization, safety on the streets. The next chapter describes the life and work of engineer and inventor František Křižík a history of the establishment of the first permanent lighting in Bohemia, particularly in the city Písek. The main part of the work is focused on the description of the historical development of the actual implementation of lighting in the city Písek. The last part of the work deals with the use of the name František Křižík in tourism of the city Písek. The conclusion is focused on possible improvements promotion František Křižík and emphasizing that the first permanent electric lighting in the Czech lands was just in the city Písek.
