Abstract

Multiple sclerosis is one of the few diseases, which can not be completly cured any way. It can be only stifled the symptoms to improve the life of the patient. There are several diseases with symptoms similar to MS, so it is necessary to determine the exact diagnosis by several methods. This work is focused on the processing of magnetic resonance imaging for better image evaluation. The main part of the thesis is the detection and segmentation of lesions and the subsequent analysis of their parameters, such as content or volume. This thesis is created in the FotomNG by using JAVA program. With an automated processing program, physicians are able to quickly rate the image and also better distinguish lesions from unwanted backgrounds.
