Abstract
This master thesis deals with modification of appraisal and remuneration systems for business academy teaching staff. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is written with the help of Czech and foreign scientific literature. For example, the research focuses on types, methods and criteria of evaluation within the evaluation system. Rules which the system should follow, structure of total reward, remuneration wage/salary scales and factors affecting the system are clarified within the remuneration system. The practical part is performed at the Business Academy in Ostrava-Marianske Hory. Ideas and satisfaction of teaching staff with appraisal and remuneration systems are identified through a survey. Results of this survey lead to a creation of proposals which should help the proper functioning of remuneration and appraisal systems at the Business Academy.
