Abstract
The European Union can be regarded as a global leader in environmental protection. Improving the environment and reducing environmental burdens can be seen from European and global environmental conditions. This is primarily a result of a sophisticated and strategic program without which environmental protection would not be as effective. For long-term improvement and environmental sustainability, it is necessary to transform sectors of transport, energy and food systems in the future. Significant impacts and benefits for the functioning of ecosystems in the European Union had in particular the implementation of European environmental policies, which were also focused on the health and standards of living of the population of the Member States.
The aim of the diploma thesis is to give a comprehensive view of the use of financial support from the European Structural and Investment Funds, namely the Operational Program Environment and project management in the context of regional development. This theoretical concept will be applied on the example of a model project that will be placed in the Moravian-Silesian Region in order to bring closer the process of project preparation with all the requisites which will lead to the synthesis between the theoretical knowledge and its application in the practice of subsidy management. The expected result of the diploma thesis is a model-created project, which can be modified in the form of a request for support through the monitoring system of the European Structural and Investment Funds MS2014+.
