Vlastnosti a použití litých kovových pěn

Abstract

Metal foams are materials with ongoing research with the broad applicability in many different areas (e.g. automotive industry, building industry, medicine, etc.). This metal materials contains in their structure artificialy created pores. These pores give them specific properties such as: large rigidity maintaining low density, high temperature conductivity, capability to absorb energy etc. This work is focused on manufacturing and utilization of the metal foams, namely cast metal filters from the aluminum alloy. Theoretical part describes the unique characteristics of this material, the casting methods of production and the main areas of usage. Practical part then shows selected cast manufacturing processes of the foam metals. Created samples are evaluated comparing their usability for filtering.
