Abstract
The subject of the graduation theses is an economic evaluation of investment in equipment for detect defects in metal in company ArcelorMittal Frýdek-Místek as Wizard theoretical part first introduction to society, ranging from history to production program, then describes the basic principles and procedures for investment decisions. Attention is mainly devoted to analysis of the most widely used methods for the assessment of investment efficiency. In the practical part, the findings are used to evaluate a particular investment project of the company, which operates in the field of sheet rolling. The investment project evaluation methods are used net present value, internal rate of return, discounted payback period, and profitability index.
