Abstract

This diploma thesis addressed occupational health and safety at work with damaged composite materials during the investigation of air accidents and incidents. The theoretical part defines the term composite material and describes its application in the aerospace industry. Attention is also paid to the health risks that damaged composites pose to the emergency responders, especially in the conditions of an air accidents. The practical part of the thesis focuses on the modification of existing investigation procedures, the design of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and recommendations regarding their proper use and disposal.
