Abstract
The study deals with evaluation of Y, La, Ce and Nd concentrations in coal, limestone and combustion products of bituminous coal and lignite in two Czech fluidised-bed power stations. The concentrations of all these elements in the studied coals were higher that world coal average. The bituminous coal contained higher level of Y (23 ppm), whereas higher levels of La (53 ppm), Ce (112 ppm) and Nd (56 ppm) has been observed in the lignite. The comparison of the concentration of the studied elements in the coals, the limestones and the ashes revealed the highest levels in the fly ashes followed by the bottom ashes, the coals and the limestones. Possible relationships between the concentrations of Y, La, Ce and Nd and the other elements in particle-size fractions were evaluated as well.
