Abstract
In this work, I performed a microscopic analysis of stones from the quarry in Hanušovice, Czech Republic. In the first part, the locality of interest is classified in terms of geological districts, i.e., the Czech Massif, the West-Sudetic region, the Orlicko-snow-capricultural region and the Old Town Series. The following parts of my thesis introduce processes of rock formation, mining procedures and processing of specific products. The practical part is mainly focused on microscopic analysis and detailed classification of minerals from mined products. Samples were classifies by measuring the percentage of minerals and by subsequent petrographic categorization. Mined products were also tested for graininess and frost resistence. In summary, the detailed petrographic research on several stone samples from Hanušovice quarry was carried out and results were evaluated.
