Abstract

This Bachelor thesis deals with the issue of modeling of mobile network 3. and 4. generation by using simulation tools. The currently operated 3G networks and emerging 4G networks, in themselves, are the key to global, high-speed mobile network of universal services. The first part of this work is dedicated to the theoretical introduction to the network 3. And 4. Generation. There are briefly described the basic features and architecture of mobile networks. The next section covers the topic applicable simulation tools, suitable for the simulation of these mobile networks. There are mentioned and described the OMNET++, OPNET Modeler, NS(Network Simulator) and QualNet simulation tools. The last, practical part represents the design and realisation of the UMTS data network model in the OPNET Modeler simulation environment.
