Abstract
The presented bachelor thesis is devoted to the characteristics and treatment of bearing steel 100Cr6. The thesis is concerned with principal factors which affect characteristics and quality of bearing steel and final product. The first part is devoted to the influence of base material in relation to its chemical composition, macrostructural and microstructural parameters. The main attention is paid to the final heat treatment process of bearing parts. This process provokes many material changes which significantly affect characteristics of the final product. The other part of the thesis presents new types of bearing steel 80CrMn4 and 100Cr6Mn-Si. These kinds of bearing steels come from the grade 100Cr6, but achieve better qualities in specific aspects. The experimental part of the thesis deals with metallographical analysis of the standard roller bearing heat treatment of the steel 100Cr6.
