Abstract

Bachelor thesis deals with the tasks, activities, legislation, protection and means of the Czech Republic’s Police Riot Units, especially the Special Riot Unit of the Moravian-Silesian Region. The first part contains legislation, next part contains the description of the activities, tasks and composition of the riot police, another part describes a history of the Special Riot Unit of the Moravian-Silesian Region as well as the protective equipment and corrective means, including a description of the possibility of their use and service vehicles. Risks associated with the use of protective and corrective means during intervention are also documented. The final section evaluates risks arising from the deficiencies of equipment and weaponry based on questionnaires, the measures that could alleviate these shortcomings and positively affect the safety of members of the riot police are also described in the final section.
