Regionální faktory nezaměstnanosti v České republice

Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the issue of regional disparities in unemployment in the Czech Republic at the level of administrative districts of municipalities with extended powers. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate these regional disparities based on selected labour market indicators, describe their development over time, and assess the relationship between unemployment and selected factors. The first part of the thesis discusses the theoretical background of regional policy, regional development, the labour market, and unemployment, including its regional dimension. This is followed by a review of empirical literature focused on regional disparities in unemployment and their determinants, summarizing the main findings of previous international and Czech research. The practical part of the thesis deals with the analysis of the spatial distribution of unemployment, the evaluation of its development over the period 2014–2024, and the assessment of selected factors that may influence these regional disparities. The thesis also includes an analysis of investment incentives and a more detailed description of four selected administrative districts of municipalities with extended powers with different labour market conditions.
