Abstract

This thesis deals with the development of a web application for processing and visualizing data from the 2021 population census. The application utilizes open data provided by the Czech Statistical Office and enables interactive visualization of results with granularity at the district level. The theoretical part of the thesis describes historical and factual aspects of the census, analysis of available data and an overview of existing applications. The practical part focuses on the implementation of the solution using modern technologies — the backend is built on the Node.js platform with the Express framework and MongoDB database system, while the frontend is implemented in React, utilizing React Leaflet for map visualizations and MUI for UI design. An interactive quiz game is also included, allowing users to familiarize themselves with statistics in an entertaining way. The result of this thesis is a unique and user-friendly application that significantly expands possibilities for the analysis and visualization of census data.
