Abstract

The thesis examines the influence of climate and ventilation conditions on volume activity of radon in residential buildings. Part of thesis is also evaluation of the activity concentration of radon in residential buildings and evaluation of radon in soil gas. The theoretical part describes the general introduction to the radon issue. Practical part explores relationship between climatic conditions and radon concentration in a residential premise using regression analysis. The thesis also contains the process of those values resulting from measurements of radon in residential buildings. The resulting values of radon in residential buildings show that the measured residential building design requires intervention in order to reduce radioactivity. A ventilation system from the subsoil was recommended for the reduction of radon in residential buildings.
