Abstract
This thesis deals with the design and practical implementation of a comprehensive virtual test bench intended for the Tatra Force T815-7 truck series. The main objective of this thesis is to create a tool that will enable the effective testing of the vehicle’s basic electronic systems in response to their ever-increasing complexity and configuration variability.
The theoretical part of the thesis defines the principles of Model-Based Design (MBD) and X-in-the-Loop (XiL) methodology, which form the basis of the modern automotive development cycle. The practical part then describes the development of a custom simulation model in the MATLAB/Simulink environment, which includes key powertrain subsystems: an engine with an implemented power map, a clutch with slip logic, a multi-speed transmission, a differential, and a dynamic body model.
An integral part of the solution is the implementation of a Rest-bus simulation in the Vector CANoe environment, which uses the standardized SAE J1939 communication protocol. The integration of these two environments enables interactive control of the virtual vehicle via a user panel in both manual and automated modes. The functionality of the proposed panel was verified through thirteen test scenarios. The experimental part focused on validating gear ratios, acceleration under partial load, and system behavior under extreme conditions. The results confirm the model’s stability and its ability to accurately simulate the dynamic characteristics of a real Tatra Force vehicle, thereby providing a valid environment for development and testing without the need for a physical prototype.
