Abstract
The present bachelor thesis is focused on the possibility of verifying the applicability of application of selected geophysical or more specifically geoelectrical methods in conducting examination of areas known as brownfields. Specifically, the work is focused on verifying the possibility of searching reinforced concrete structures, which remained as remnants of previous activity primarily in the areas of industrial brownfields. The thesis is divided into several parts. The first section provides a brief introduction to the field of geoelectric methods, focusing on Ground penetrating radar - GPR and Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT). The next section is a description of the conducted measurement, including basic data on measuring instruments used. An integral part of the work is the description of the site, were the verification measurement was carried out. Selected part of the territory of the former coking plant Trinity in Trinity Valley in the cadastral Silesian Ostrava was chosen as the locality. The following part of the work contains summary of the measured results together with their interpretation followed by summary of the findings, stating some aspects that should be considered during further verification measurements. In the conclusions there are also recommendations for further approach for verification of applicability of geoelectrical methods in detection of reinforced concrete structures in brownfields’ undergrounds.
