Abstract

Proof of identity and registration of the population has a long-term development. The identity of the individual was verified by the help of witness in the beginning of human society. The identity of the individual has to prove at first by using of the public documents, equip with personal picture, which over time replaced personal documents – identity card, passport. The purpose of the work is introduce the development of the identity card, as a representative of personal documents and outline the possibility of the orientations in the section of proving the person´s identity through personal documents.
