Návrh metodiky pro hodnocení kultury bezpečnosti v průmyslových podnicích

Abstract

The dissertation aims to develop a methodology and practical guidance for evaluating safety culture in industrial enterprises. Although safety culture has been the subject of scientific research for more than 30 years, this issue is still not sufficiently addressed in the Czech Republic. Companies in the Czech Republic often lack information on the importance of safety culture, the possibilities of its assessment and subsequent improvement. It is this weak safety culture that has been identified as one of the main causes of major industrial accidents and serious workplace injuries. It turns out that technical measures, together with a sophisticated safety management system, are not sufficient to ensure maximum safety and minimise accidents. To do this, it is necessary to consider the human factor, focus on creating safe behaviour, changing mindsets and creating a strong safety culture. It is therefore important that companies change their approach to safety as a purely technical matter and start to address the psychological aspects, which are essential to improving safety performance, and focus on developing a safety culture. Surveys have shown that the problem in companies is often a lack of information on how to assess and improve their safety culture. The proposed methodology should be freely available and enable companies to identify strengths and particular areas for improvement. It is designed to promote learning and to provide guidance to companies, as early as during the assessment process, on what steps to take for further improvement of safety culture, thereby supporting their decision-making processes even without in-depth theoretical knowledge of the issue.
