Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the heating systems control of the thawing halls, intended for thawing raw materials that are transported on railway wagons, with the help of PLC. It focuses on evaluating current outdated management system. It also addresses the use of existing hardware, including the design of a replacement for modern components and the choice of a suitable programmable controller with the required peripherals and sufficient analog and digital inputs and outputs. The design of the control modernization should result in better efficiency of the heating system using modern safety features. This will accelerate the start of the desired heating curve and reduce the consumption of the heating medium by reducing the number of burners controlled by the exact combustion ratio.
