Abstract

The subject of this thesis is to evaluate the resistence of two – phase steel in sour environments containing hydrogen sulfide to Sulfide Stress Cracking – SSC and the aim is to assess how microstructural changes in duplex steels can be affect their resistance to SSC. On the issue of hydrogen embrittlement of steels is given great emphasis, because it concerns mainly petrochemical industry, where the main source of hydrogen sulfide in the presence of oil and natural gas. The laboratory study used duplex steel smelting 22Cr05Ni. An evalution of the scanning elektron microscope JEOL JSM – 6490LV, where it assessed the nature of the cracks in the as-delivered state and in state after laboratory annealing.
