Bezpečnostní inspekce na místní komunikaci Nad Porubkou v Ostravě

Abstract

The thesis focuses on the safety of the Nad Porubkou road in Ostrava, assessed according to the principles of road safety inspection. The first part of the thesis describes individual risks on this road and proposals for their elimination. The results of the inspection show that the most serious problem is the intersection of Nad Porubkou and Francouzská Streets, which in its current state is capacity inadequate and poses a significant risk to road users. Therefore, the study proposed two variants of modifications of this intersection, aimed at improving the safety and flow of traffic. Both options were subjected to a multi-criteria assessment that included factors such as capacity assessment, sight distance and throughput. Based on this evaluation, the option of converting the existing intersection to a roundabout was selected as the preferred option. Documentation for this option was subsequently prepared at the planning permission stage (DÚR), which includes the technical and operational parameters of the proposed modification. The proposal contributes to increased safety, optimises traffic flows and increases comfort for all road users.
