Abstract

This diploma thesis is focused on the application of Six Sigma methodology in aluminum alloy wheels manufacturing in company Maxion Wheels Ltd. The theoretical part of this thesis describes Six Sigma methodology and rigorous approach known as DMAIC, an integral part of a Six Sigma initiative. Next chapter describes some of the statistical or graphical tools and methods used in practical part of the thesis. Attention is also paid to the aluminum casting technology. The practical part is based on application of chosen tools and methods to the aluminum casting process. This part also contains results of accepted and realized improvements.
