Abstract

This thesis deals with the theory and design of daily and artificial lighting, energy assessment of a model room and comparing with the real situation. Lighting is controlled by an intelligent control system for constant illumination level. Artificial lighting is controlled according to the daily light entering through the lighting apertures. A significant energy saving is the reason for the regulation of artificial lighting. The aim of the thesis is to compare mathematical models of energy savings with real measured values of electricity consumption. Savings that are outlined to investor through mathematical models are indicative. The potential for savings is likely to be far higher.
