Abstract

KRÁLÍČKOVÁ, Veronika: REVITALIZATION OF THE POND AREA, KLÁŠTOR POD ZNIEVOM, SLOVAKIA Ostrava, VŠB Technical university Ostrava, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Architecture Supervisor: doc. Ing. arch. Zdeněk Trefil The diploma thesis focuses on the architectural and urban design for the revitalization and new functional use of the pond system in the locality of Kláštor pod Znievom in Slovakia. The primary challenge is the increasing depletion of water resources and the necessity to transform the functional use from the current non functional fish export to an economically and ecologically sustainable and publicly attractive complex. The goal is to find a balance between preserving the historical layout of the ponds and the potential use of the area for the wider public. The result is a design that offers a space where nature and people coexist in harmony. The project sensitively revives the history of the site, establishing it as a vibrant landmark on the map of Kláštor pod Znievom.
