Abstract
In this submited PhD thesis there is dealt with precipitation influence on bathing water quality in Fiskvollbukta area, what is a very suitable swimming beach area near Oslo, the capital of Norway.
At the first glance this area is nothing special, beautiful surroundings, blue water, ideal place where to relax and swim. On the other hand the main problem is the sewage system in this field. For this family houses area is typical smaller drain pipes diameter. This causes inconviniences during summer and rain season. When rainfall over 10 mm sewage water from nearby family houses is recieved into the river and then directly into the sea. It poses a risk to small children, pensioners and people with weakened immune system. While staying in contaminated water the hazardous organism presence is very dangerous from a health point of view.
The samples have been taken for four month on three selected locations and the samples were analyzed for the presence of thermotolerant coliform bacteria, Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci.
Since the water gets also affected by consirable amount of fauna´s manure, especially seagulls, it was also neccessary to make required analysis.
Based on the perspective analysis there was found out that there is a correlation between ranifall and high concentrations of individual bacteria, especially faecal contamination indicators. This phenomenon is very dangerous for humans and therefore the education in this area is neccessary during the summer season and using natural bathing waters.
