Abstract
The issue of global warming and depletion of fossil fuels is an opportunity for electric vehicles in transport. The use of green energy is becoming increasingly important in today's world. At present, the market offers a large number of types and designs of batteries to power electric vehicles. Compared to other types of batteries, the use of a Lithium-ion battery is considered the best solution due to its high performance and long life. Traction battery problems, charging methods and basic experiments were analyzed.
In diploma thesis, the issues of energy sources of electric driven transportation means, chemical batteries and their control have been studied. Then the solution of control of the battery system for slow and fast charging has been studied and proposed. A prototype of the electric car battery control system for slow charging has been experimentally assembled and setup. Properties of fast charging systems DBT and ABB have been studied and experimentally verified. The conclusion summarizes the possibilities of using the solutions contained in the diploma thesis for the realization of a small electric car for suburban traffic.
