Abstract

The theoretical part of bachelor’s thesis is about 3D printing, various kinds of 3D printing processes and details of each manufacturing process. Second part of the theoretical section describes uses of 3D printing in industrial manufacturing and material engineering summarizes general 3D printing requirements for general and professional communities. The experimental part contains characteristics and comparison of AISI 316L sample printed on 3D printer and rolled sample. Compared are mechanical properties by tests such as Small Punch Tests (SPT), tensile tests and toughness tests and surface structure studied on metallographs in polished and then etched state. At the end the mechanical properties derived from aforementioned tests were compared with each other.
