Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with Insurance Intermediaries and Liquidators of Insurance Events. The thesis is divided into five parts. The first part involves theoretical aspects of the Czech insurance market, defines the basic terms of this field, its short development and significance. The second part is focused on intermediary activity within both the Czech Republic and the European Union. Individual categories of intermediaries, their advantages, disadvantages and ways of their rewarding are analyzed in this part. Further, a recommended legislation of this field is described. The third part is devoted to liquidators of insurance events, their activities, rewarding and process of liquidation. The fourth part determines the conditions of accession into and leaving this field. The last part deals with supervision being provided by the Czech National Bank and points out unfair practice the consumers can face on the insurance market.
