Abstract
This thesis focuses on the evaluation of the effectiveness of energy management (EM) within a company. The aim is to assess the effectiveness of EM in the selected company and to propose recommendations for its potential improvement through analytical methods. The thesis consists of seven chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, describing the objectives and scope of the work. The second chapter is the theoretical part, specifying the concept of energy management. It also describes the characteristics, distribution, and trade of basic types of energy, especially natural gas and electricity. Additionally, it specifies the enterprise and corporate social responsibility. The third chapter describes the methodology of composing energy prices, some unit conversion relationships, and, last but not least, the method of analysis and SWOT analysis. The fourth chapter specifies the company in which the analysis of EM effectiveness will take place. The fifth chapter is the practical part, applying the knowledge from the theoretical section to analyze the process efficiency of EM and energy management efficiency within the operational part of the company. Subsequently, this thesis will evaluate the impacts of energy management on the company's surroundings. The sixth chapter entails the creation of recommendations to enhance EM efficiency within the company. SWOT analysis is utilized for this purpose, aggregating and simplifying the insights gained from the analysis of process efficiency and energy management efficiency to determine recommendations for improving energy management within the company. The seventh chapter contains the final summary of results and insights achieved during the thesis development.
