Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis examines the practical applications of hyperspectral imaging systems. The theoretical section focuses on describing the physical principles governing the behavior and reflection of light from surfaces, the spectral properties of vegetation, and the various types of light sources used in image capturing. The main part of the thesis covers the design, implementation, and evaluation of two practical demonstration tasks that compare technologically and financially distinct approaches to optical material recognition. The results of the thesis provide a comprehensive comparison of both methods in terms of cost, data volume, and calibration complexity for their real-world application in education and diagnostics.
