Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on designing improvements to warehousing and shipping efficiency within the company ABC s.r.o., a manufacturer of plastic components primarily for the automotive industry. The aim of the thesis is to identify the root causes of inefficiencies in warehouse operations, analyze the current state of three geographically dispersed storage facilities, and propose solutions based on lean management principles such as the 5S method, FIFO, ABC analysis, and Kaizen. The practical part is based on internal company data and introduces a reorganization of the warehouse system, including spatial consolidation, layout optimization, the implementation of new material handling equipment, and the use of mobile printers. The proposed improvements lead to lower operational costs, increased productivity, better ergonomics, and enhanced workplace safety. The thesis also emphasizes achieving higher efficiency without requiring significant investments while maintaining the core structure of existing processes.
