Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with venture capital as an alternative source of funding. It explains the concept of venture capital and forms of investment. Attention is getting venture capital in the Czech Republic and four other countries in Central and Eastern Europe. The first part includes the theoretical part of this topic. Characterizes venture capital as such, describes a form of investment by venture capital, investment types and participants in the market. The second chapter concerns the significance and role of venture capital in the Czech Republic. It includes a theoretical part, as the history of the venture capital market, today's market situation and the practical part: Statistics of the Czech Republic according to CVCA. The last chapter describes and compares the development of venture capital in other countries, Czech Republic.
