Abstract
In this document, comprehensive structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete structure of administrative building is conducted.
Structure was modelled in structural analysis software SCIA Engineer (version 21) using 1D (beams, columns) and 2D (plates, shells) finite elements. Linear static analysis of beams, columns and typical floor slabs has been conducted. 2nd order effects for compression members were considered. For slender members, nominal curvature method for determining 2nd order moments were used and internal forces were recalculated accordingly. The reinforcement was designed in the SCIA Engineer, using “concrete” module. Results of beam reinforcement design were compared with hand calculated values and accuracy of software calculation was ensured.
Soil was modeled using basic springs. Nonlinear static analysis was conducted for foundation slab to model behavior of soil, disregarding tensile capacity. Results were briefly compared with static analysis.
Finally, drawing schemes for main elements were generated in vector drawing software AutoCAD, according to designed data.
