Příprava MAX fází termickou syntézou z prvků

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to optimize the process parameters of the MAX phase Ti3AlC2 synthesis with respect to achieving the highest possible purity of the product and elimination of synthesis by-products. For synthesis purposes powder titanium, powder aluminium and soot as a source of carbon were used. Two types of soot were used in the experimental part: commercial soot and industrial soot. At the beginning of the work was determined which parameters in thermal synthesis going to be optimized. The following parameter were chosen: i) soot content, ii) synthesis temperature, iii) purity of the crucible, iv) aluminium content, v) heating rate and vi) two phase milling. The influence of chosen parameters was evaluated and discussed. With their optimal choice the MAX phase Ti3AlC2 at 98 % purity was prepared. Subsequently, the selected Ti3AlC2 samples were etched by HF into MXen Ti3C2 which was then characterized by XRD, SEM and EDS analytical methods.
