Modifikace zakázaného pásu grafitického nitridu uhlíku

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis investigates graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) and the possibilities of doping it with various alkali metals - specifically sodium, potassium, and lithium. The primary purpose of doping this photocatalyst was to examine the influence of different alkali metals on its band gap properties. Pristine g-C3N4 alone is not highly efficient due to the rapid recombination of photogenerated charge carriers. However, available studies suggest that the presence of alkali metals slightly improves its photoelectric properties without significantly disrupting its structure. The theoretical part of the thesis describes photocatalytic processes and the band theory of semiconductors. The main focus of this section, however, is graphitic carbon nitride itself, including various methods of its preparation and analysis. During the practical part, samples of both the pure and doped photocatalyst were synthesized. These samples were subsequently analyzed to measure their band gap, Urbach energy, and structural properties.
