Abstract
The translated bachelor thesis is focused on the electric traction of dieselelectric locomotives with direct current transmission. I focused on two principles of electricity production by traction dynamo and alternator.
The aim of the paper is to clarify the principle of independent electric traction, to acquaint the reader in detail with the principles of operation and what both types of traction contain on two practical examples and to compare them in conclusion.
