Pozemní komunikace a jejich vliv na ŽP

Abstract

This thesis comprises the effects on environment caused by roads, either by their construction or by the consequent motor vehicle traffic. The first part explains road definition, describes road development and classification used in the Czech Republic. Also, it includes the basic principles of combustion engine types. The following part offers an overview of the general effects of roads on environment. The third part analyses traffic in the area of Ostrava municipality and its effect of air quality, with the particular attention paid to Českobratrská Street and Sokolská Avenue crossroad. It includes the emission calculations of the basic polutants produced by the traffic through the above mentioned crossroad.
