Abstract
This Bachelor Thesis is focused on The Waste Management of the Town Ostrava and cities and municipalities which belong to the collecting area of OZO Ostrava, which provides comprehensive services in waste management in this area. The first part is focused on the characteristics of waste management, individual terms and legislation that are connected with waste management. In the next part there is described the Town Ostrava and the waste management in this town. The final part include four journalistic genres - leading article, survey, interview and gloss, which are related to the solved issue.
