Abstract

Solid waste from metallurgical production usually arises in the technological cycle, during clearing (filtering) of waste gases and water. Ironbearing waste can be used again in the production of metal therefore it can be considered as secondary raw material. Use this method, however just ironbearing waste which contains low amount of substances harmful to the process of making iron and steel is possible to use. Sludge and dusts are a burden on the environment and one of problematic types of metallurgical waste. Sintering or pelletization and their further use within the metallurgical plant will contribute significantly to reduction of the environmental burden. To determine the suitability of these materials usage, experimental measurement of reducibility of prepared pellets was carried out in laboratory.
