Bezpečnostní studie rizik při absenci reflexních prvků u cyklistů za snížené viditelnosti

Abstract

Pešová, B. Safety study of risks in the absence of reflective elements in cyclists with reduced visibility. Ostrava, 2021. 79 p. Diploma thesis. VŠB – TU Ostrava, Faculty of Safety Engineering, Department of Security Services. Thesis supervisor Ing. Stanislav Lichorobiec, Ph.D. This thesis is focused on the safety study of risks in the absence of reflective elements, such as active lights in cyclists with reduced visibility. The introductory part contains legal regulations and technical standards related to the issue. This part is followed by a theoretical description of visibility, car´s light sources and passive and active safety elements for the visibility of the cyclist, especially the reflective ones. Following is a risk analysis, which identifies possible risks to the cyclist and evaluates the most serious ones. At the end of the work is a safety study of the visibility of selected reflective elements and active lights in reduced visibility, placed on the cyclist or his bicycle, depending on the distance and type of car headlights. The aim of the work is to find out how important the reflective elements are for a cyclist riding on a traffic road in reduced visibility, and what is their effectiveness in comparison with active lights.
