Abstract
The presence of water-soluble salts in masonry structures is a common problem, which can be found in many buildings structures, especially in agricultural structures or in structures, which are situated close to roads. The theoretical part of the theses describe the issue of water-soluble salts in building structures and the possibility of its measurement and identification by selected chemical and instrumental methods. The practical part is focused on the possibility of quantitative determination of the content of the water-soluble salts by an infrared spectroscopy and the creation of the necessary calibration models. Furthermore a technical building investigation was carried out on the building structure, for which the contamination with water-soluble salts was expected. During the technical building investigation, sampling was performed to determine the presence of water-soluble salts. The functionality of the application of quantitative evaluation with IR spectroscopy was verified by a combination of created calibration models and semi-quantitative methods using indication papers.
