The aim of the work is to analyze road safety at the intersection 17. listopadu – K Myslivne – nabrezi SPB in Ostrava and the adequacy of current arrangements. In the first part there is a description of the current state and traffic signs at the intersection. In the thesis there are included the results of the traffic survey, traffic forecast for the prospective year with reduced values for the purpose of discharging transit traffic, capacity calculations, traffic accidents, and video-analysis of conflict situations. Furthermore, there are alternative proposals for modifications of intersection. There are suggestions of corner editing, disable the left turn from the main road and the design of lane for left turn. Thesis also includes simulation models in the program PTV VISSIM including statistical comparisons of individual modifications.
