Abstract

The disertation is concerned with factors that affect/influence a failure rate of a water network in Ostrava. The water network, tubular materials, fixtures, the age of the water network and its lifetime is described. Then a description of types of the water network defects / leakage, a distribution according to sorts of materials and a development of the failure rate follows. Localization of defects / leakage is part and parcel of the failure rate.. Here are the acoustic and neakustické measurement methods and knowledge from practice. Circumstances influencing the failure rate due to traffic, seismological impact and mining are listed. Subsequently, evaluated the effect of different temperatures on the failure rate of the water network .The drinking water quality is an inseparable part of the water network working, it is closely connected with a technical condition of the water network. In conclusion, an evaluation of the water network failure rate depending on the above-mentioned factors is conducted.
