Abstract

This diploma thesis dealt with reconstruction of land cover and river bed of Morávka River between years 1836–2009 with using geographic information systems. The area of interest was defined from Morávka and Skalka confluence to the Morávka’s estuary in Ostravice nearby Frýdek-Místek. Input data were imperial imprints of stable cadastre (1836), maps from II. military mapping (1840), III. military mapping (1876) and orthophotos from 1955 and 2009. In theoretical part of this thesis was the area of interest characterized by physical geography and historical perspective, described the input data and indicated the possibilities of landscape evaluation. Created typology of land cover and interpretation key allowed to make the reconstruction of land cover and river bed by designed data model. Vectorization was made in ArcGIS software. Analysis of time series, with computation of absolute and relative increase/decrease of areas was found besides other things threefold increase of forest area especially to the detriment of grasslands or sevenfold increase of urban fabric areas. Based on the results of selected applications of landscape metrics, area of interest can be classified into the ecologically stable areas with low anthropogenic influence. With spatial-temporal analysis of Morávka‘s river bed were compared Morávka channel progress and morphology for over 170 years, the differences in localization reach up to several hundred meters.
