Abstract
This thesis presents research on the laboratory evaluation of the reservoir parameters on rock samples after applying liquid casing. The purpose of this research is better understanding of the process of liquid casing utilization and to present new knowledge that allows us to prevent fluid losses into the formation during well operations. This thesis opens with current methods of underground gas storage (UGS) wells completions with focus on the safety issues during their operation. Following chapter deals with working fluids in UGS wells. Chapter describing laboratory research itself is focused on core plugs evaluation and possibilities of simulating well operations in laboratory conditions, especially liquid casing application and their performance. Our study showed that higher pressures used while introducing liquid casing into the UGS formation and thicker cake layer formation significantly improve its blocking capabilities. By repeating this process additional increase in blocking capacity occurs.
