Abstract

The introductory part deals with the definition, origin and occurrence of natural zeolites and their properties. Skills are emphasized characteristic zeolite - adsorption capacity and capability of ion exchange that determine their use in practice. They also mentioned the possibility of their presentation and briefly discussed the production of synthetic zeolites. The theoretical part is devoted to the phenomena of adsorption and ion exchange both generally and specifically focusing on their course in a natural aluminosilicate zeolites. The practical part will focus on the use of zeolites for the removal of harmful metals adsorption and ion exchange in the treatment of mine waters by foreign research. Own laboratory work consisted in testing the removal of manganese and sulphate ions from the mine water using granular natural zeolite.
