Abstract
This master thesis deals with the analysis of physical and design principles of the function of optical smoke detectors. In the introductory part, the historical development and the need for automatic fire detection with various types of already existing detection options are described. Furthermore, the issue of false alarms and the possibility of their elimination is discussed. The final part of this work describes the construction of a measuring device and the selection of its components for carrying out an experiment, which deals with the effect of wavelength of a light beam and angular dependence between source and the scattered light receiver inside optical smoke detectors operating on light scattering.
