Abstract
There are many variables that need to be considered when it comes to using of straw bale constructions. The main problem is the lack of informations about the mechanical properties of this material. Creating of models can help with better understanding of behavior of this material and can contribute to easier design of straw bale constructions. The main goal of this bachelor thesis was creation of simplified isotropic model of straw bale.
The analysis of data, obtained from experimental testing, was the first step in creating the model. Another essential part was evaluation of data using automatic scripts and transfer of acquired knowledge directly into software, in which the numerical models were created
This thesis deals with the historical and current use of this material, it also contains informations about already conducted research and models that were created depending on these research. It also deals with procedure of obtaining the modulus of elasticity and the Poisson constatnt. Another subject of this thesis is the creation of straw bale model, a wall model, which is formed by these bales, and subsequent comparison of the results from the model with the results of experimental tests.
