Abstract

The thesis deals with the identification of key factors that influence the management decision whether to change the type of input material for a particular manufactured product in engineering production. This change affects the production process, production lead times and has an impact on reducing the production of defective products. The results confirm that the proposed measures lead to increased production efficiency, reduced unit costs and significant time savings which can be further used to increase capacity or reduce lead times.
